Time commitment varies depending on the number and complexity of applications referred (typically several hours per application, including preparation and discussion).  <\/td><td class=\"column-4\">Orientation provided by the Registrar and\/or Deputy Registrar, with ongoing staff support and guidance throughout the committee process. <\/td><td class=\"column-5\">Eligible travel expenses covered<\/td><td class=\"column-6\">Registered audiologists and speech-language pathologists with professional experience and an interest in supporting fair registration practices. Experience with education programs, clinical supervision, professional standards, or diverse practice settings is an asset. <\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr class=\"row-3\">\n\t<td class=\"column-1\">Practice Advisory <br \/>\n<br \/>\n(Term: 3 yrs) <\/td><td class=\"column-2\">Review and provide input on documents and resources related to the practice of audiology and speech-language pathology. <\/td><td class=\"column-3\">Project-based, typically 1-hour meetings. Frequency depends on project timelines and is usually 4 times each year. <\/td><td class=\"column-4\">Orientation and ongoing guidance from staff and experienced committee members.<\/td><td class=\"column-5\">Eligible travel expenses covered<\/td><td class=\"column-6\">Relevant practice experience or familiarity with professional standards and clinical practice. <\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr class=\"row-4\">\n\t<td class=\"column-1\">Complaints <br \/>\n<br \/>\n(Term: 3 yrs) <\/td><td class=\"column-2\">Review complaints received by the College and consider relevant information and evidence to determine an appropriate outcome under the College\u2019s legislation and processes. The committee may dismiss complaints, request additional information, or refer matters to the Discipline Committee. <\/td><td class=\"column-3\">Varies depending on the complexity of complaints assigned. Members should expect to review complaint materials and participate in committee meetings and discussions. <\/td><td class=\"column-4\">Orientation and support on the complaints process, including guidance from legal counsel as required. <\/td><td class=\"column-5\">Eligible travel expenses covered <\/td><td class=\"column-6\">Practising audiologists and speech-language pathologists with at least 2 years of professional experience. Members should demonstrate fairness, sound judgment, professionalism, and the ability to maintain confidentiality. Public members provide an important perspective outside the profession. <\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr class=\"row-5\">\n\t<td class=\"column-1\">Discipline Committee <br \/>\n<br \/>\n(Term: 3 years) <\/td><td class=\"column-2\">Conduct hearings regarding complaints referred by the Complaints Committee and make decisions in accordance with the College\u2019s legislation. The committee may also review applications related to reinstatement or changes to conditions, restrictions, or limitations on practice. <\/td><td class=\"column-3\">As needed. Members review evidence, participate in hearings, and attend meetings. Time commitment depends on the complexity of each matter. <\/td><td class=\"column-4\">Orientation and training provided, including guidance from legal counsel and ongoing resources for disciplinary hearings. <\/td><td class=\"column-5\">Eligible travel, lodging, and meal expenses covered. A stipend for time away from work may be available if not covered by the employer.<\/td><td class=\"column-6\">Practising audiologists and speech-language pathologists with at least 3 years of professional experience. Members should demonstrate fairness, professionalism, confidentiality, and the ability to assess evidence objectively. Experience with ethics, professional standards, or regulatory processes is an asset.
