Registrants of RCASLPNB are invited to apply for consideration to be appointed to a committee at any time.
In the event of a vacancy, the Council reviews the applications for committee service and makes appointments in the best interest of RCASLPNB's mandate. Registrants who submit an application, and do not receive an appointment immediately, will be retained in the pool of applicants and may be appointed to a committee at a later date.

| Registration and Competence (Term: 3 yrs) | Review applications for registration, renewal, and reinstatement, conduct annual quality assurance audits, and contribute to the development of resources to support registrants in maintaining their competence. | 2-hour meetings plus preparation for each Internationally Educated Health Professional (IEHP) application (typically 2-3 applications/year); 1-2 meetings per year to verify continuing competence activities. | Orientation meeting with the Registrar and/or Deputy Registrar; collaborative team discussions on applications. | Travel expenses covered | Experience in a specific area of practice, region, or other relevant expertise to assist the committee. |
| Practice Advisory (Term: 3 yrs) | Review of key documents affecting the practice of audiology and speech-language pathology. | Project-based, typically 1-hour lunchtime meetings. | Complaints (Term: 3 yrs) | To receive and review complaints, conduct preliminary investigations, request and obtain such information, documents, evidence and things as they consider necessary for the purpose of the committee, and to either dismiss a complaint refer the complaint to the Discipline Committee for further investigation. | Varies depending on complaint complexity (2-20 hours). Typically, 4-5 hours per complaint. | Instructions and support from legal counsel throughout the complaint review process. | Travel expenses covered | Minimum of 5 years of field experience. Requires two reference letters to confirm reputation for fairness, just conduct, and confidentiality. |
| Discipline Committee (Term: 3 years) | To determine the guilt or innocence of a member against whom a complaint was received by holding a hearing as outlined in the Act Respecting Health Professionals. | As needed. Typically involves a full-day orientation with a lawyer prior to a hearing, reviewing documents/evidence, meeting with the committee to deliberate, and participating in hearings (1-2 days). | Full-day orientation with a lawyer; upcoming Procedures Manual for ongoing guidance during disciplinary hearings. | Travel, lodging, and meals covered. A stipend for time off work may be available if not covered by the employer. | Minimum of 2 years work experience in their field. |
